FORT WORTH, Texas – Pier 1 Imports has recalled 6,300 swivel desk chairs including 300 sold in Canada for several models whose legs can break, resulting in fall and injury hazards. The company has received 29 reports of the chair legs breaking, with one minor back injury reported.
The recall involves five models, the Brennon, the Corinne, the Devon, the Emile and the Hourglass. These chairs have a base with five wheels and come in various colors. Pier 1, China, the model number and the manufacture date code in month and year format are on the underside of the seats.
They were made in China from April 2019 through September 2019 and sold at Pier 1 stores nationwide from May 2019 through November 2019 for between $260 and $450.
Consumers have been advised to stop using the recalled chairs immediately and contact the retailer for a free repair kit including shipping. To view all the respective chair model numbers and colors click here.
