DALLAS – The Dallas Market Center has announced it will close temporarily through April 3 due to concerns related to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The announcement comes on the heels of a “shelter-in-place” order for residents of Dallas County to cease non-essential business operations through April 3.

In a letter to buyers, Cindy Morris, president and CEO of the Dallas Market Center, announced the temporary closure, which starts the evening of March 23.

Morris noted that the market center has posted information regarding product availability from its exhibitors on its web site, www.dallasmarketcenter.com

“Even while temporarily closed we believe in continuing our mission of connecting buyers with available products,” Morris said. “We will pick back up with our daily business, design events, and upcoming markets shortly…Finally, I want to say that in the midst of this public health crisis we are learning a lot about each other and what values we demonstrate to our customers and our community. Health and safety are the highest among them but we also have gratitude—for the first responders and medical staff but also for the businesses that continue to serve their neighbors.

“This pandemic will have a beginning, middle and an end,” she continued. “We will support one another in the middle so that at the end of it, we emerge wiser and better equipped.”
