SHANGHAI – Organizers of the autumn edition of the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles show said the Aug. 24-26 is still scheduled, as they are hoping disruptions from COVID-19 to level out by that time.

“We are planning for all our trade fairs in the second half of the year to go ahead as scheduled following the disruptions from the COVID-19 virus to our events earlier in the year,” said Wendy Wen, senior general manager of event organizer Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.

The announce follows news that the March 11-13 edition of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles and two sister shows, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics and the Yarn Expo Spring edition were canceled due to the coronavirus scare.

“Although the virus outbreak will no doubt have an effect on the Chinese economy, there were strong economic figures in the Chinese home textiles industry last year, so we expect the economy and this sector to rebound strongly once the virus is brought under control,” Wen added. “We look forward to the upcoming autumn edition, and our teams will leave no stone unturned to ensure a successful trade fair for domestic and international exhibitors and visitors alike.”

The show is being held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. It will feature a wide mix of home textiles such as decorative fabrics for upholstery and curtains; fabrics for bedding, bath, kitchen and table; carpets and rugs; sun protection fabrics; wall coverings; fibers, yarns and chemicals and more.

The show is also offering an early bird discount of 10% that is available to companies that register online by March 30. For more information on the show, visit www.intertextilehome.com.
