SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -Officials with luxury case goods and wood flooring manufacturer Artitalia Group said the lockdown that limits the movement of people in Italy has not impacted its Italian manufacturing operations.

Italy is reported to have the second highest number of coronavirus cases after China, with 10,590 active cases and 827 deaths. Another 1,045 individuals have recovered, but 1,028 individual remain in critical condition. However, in a recent letter to its customers, the company said that the lockdown decree issued March 9 is not expected to impact its business.

“All activities related to business, therefore the production, work and transportation of goods, do not have restrictions,” the company wrote. “Also the limitations introduced do not prohibit travel for business reasons.”

The letter also noted, “Goods may enter and exit the area. Transporting goods is considered a well-grounded work related reason for moving: carriers may therefore enter and exit as well as move within the affected area.”

The company added that it has taken measures internally to make sure that staff remains healthy and thus able to perform tasks related to the production and flow of goods. For example, it said, staff has been trained relating to proper hygiene, particularly measures that limit the transmission of the disease. It also has suspended all business trips and suppliers’ visits “that are not strictly necessary.”

“Considering this, we confirm there are no changes in our production and services supply, and our staff is committed to keep the usual production activity unchanged,” the letter continued. “We can firm that we are in line with all the delivery times communicated.”

“We are working hard to ensure this situation does not cause inconvenience to both us and our customers. For this reason, we kindly ask you for all your collaboration and trust in Artitalia Group and all its workers.”
