Radici Group headquarters in Bergamo, Italy
BERGAMO, Italy — Operations at Radici USA parent RadiciGroup’s headquarters here are “regular” under new government guidelines.
The producer of specialty chemicals, high-performance polymers, synthetic fibers and nonwovens today released an announcement, assuring it is “in full compliance with the measures issued by the Italian government” amid the European nation’s outbreak of coronavirus.
Italy is said to be the country with the third-highest rate of total coronavirus cases worldwide and second-highest rate of deaths due to the illness, according to several news agencies.
To contain the epidemic’s spread, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte recently ordered the closure of schools, gyms, museums and many other venues nationwide. Additionally, the government has quarantined 16 million people living in the country’s northern region including Milan, which is about 37 miles from RadiciGroup’s operations here.
The Italian government’s new provisions, RadiciGroup today noted, allow for the unrestricted movement of goods entering and leaving Italy along with goods handled inside the country “and therefore for the regular delivery of orders according to agreements made,” it added. “We are confident that the situation will soon return to normal.”
RadiciGroup is a 60-year-old textile conglomerate with annual sales in excess of $2 billion and is a major player in the floor coverings industry. It operates 25 factories for the production of tufted and woven carpets, machine-made area rugs, and polymers and yarn as well as textile engineered products.
Subsidiary Radici USA, based in Spartanburg, S.C., offers a range of soft flooring products, from machine-made area rugs to 100% wool woven carpet.
